Eliot is a graduate of the Iowa Writers' Workshop where he taught undergraduate Creative Writing and was a Truman Capote Fellow. He is the co-founder of the international queer collective, Slanted House. His debut novel, PONYBOY (Norton and Footnote) was published in June 2023 and was the first book with a trans protagonist to be nominated for the National Book Award.
